Clinical Psychologist & Yoga Teacher. Sheffield, UK

I’m Dr Mary King, an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist specialising in the relationship between the mind, body and nervous system. I integrate evidence-based psychological therapies with an understanding of how experiences such as trauma, illness and physical health conditions can shape the way we think, feel and experience life. I support people affected by trauma, health conditions and life-changing injuries, offering compassionate therapy tailored to each person’s unique experiences, needs and goals.
I have a particular interest in the relationship between the mind, body and nervous system. To explore this connection further, I completed yoga teacher training. This has enriched my clinical practice by broadening my appreciation of how breath, movement and body awareness can support psychological wellbeing. Along the way, I discovered how much I enjoy teaching yoga and continue to explore new ideas, both as a learner and a teacher.
I offer psychological therapy as well as regular yoga classes, workshops and training. While these are distinct areas of my work, they are closely connected and continually inform one another.
Psychological therapy
I offer one-to-one psychological therapy for adults who are navigating a wide range of psychological difficulties. I have particular expertise in supporting people as they adjust to life-changing injuries (including Spinal Cord Injury), manage the impact of chronic health conditions (including Long Covid), and work through the effects of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
